I am going over things that I have accepted and want to continue to use as part of my setup. As I write these posts, I am giving myself enough time to be sure that I am keeping the items I discuss. The leather pad was surprisingly more comfortable than I expected. You could say this phase is one part ergonomic and the other is strictly aesthetic, but I beg to differ. In saying all that, this first phase is setting up a VESA mount on my iMac Pro and mounting it to a monitor arm plus purchasing a leather desk pad for my keyboard and mouse. That is a significant aspect of the purchases I make, but ultimately, it needs to fit my tastes and provide the desire to want to sit or stand in one place for hours at a time. I want to avoid giving off the impression that everything I go over for my desk setup will be a literal use for writing. I want my desk to be useful and productive, but it also needs to be fun. Since I am moving to a desktop from a long-time laptop user, it is important for me to have a place for me to want to go to each day. My goal in setting up my desk setup is to have some that is ergonomic, making it comfortable to use for long periods, and unique to my style to provide a welcoming environment for me to want to use. This will be my first of a few posts on the process of creating my Dream Desk Setup.
